1. Instrument Selection
In the Instrument section of the main workspace, each of the labels (Name, Port, and Settings) is a hyperlink: click it to open its options dialog.
Disable Editing: De-select the checkbox to enable editing when the links are grayed out/disabled.
Instrument selection determines the action buttons and other controls presented on-screen. If you haven't already done so, read Understanding the LHC Software.
Open a Protocol: The instrument and its settings are saved in the protocol files that are created for it. When you open a protocol, you select an instrument, too.
