LHC structure

The LHC can be thought of as a shell that an instrument's controls are plugged into. When you select an instrument, the LHC communicates with the instrument's software to determine and display its options. In the image above, the ELx405 (1) is the selected instrument and the Wash, Aspirate, Dispense, Prime, Soak, and Autoclean buttons (2) are its options. Only the LHC's buttons (the left column of buttons in the Add Step area) are displayed when an instrument has not been selected.
