Welcome!

A little about me.

Hello! I’m Steve Arrants, a Vermont-based technical writer, editor, and documentation engineer.

I’ve helped companies re-engineer and improve documentation processes, while helping reduce their costs, streamline their schedules, and increase productivity. As a technical writer and editor I help build a bridge between people and technology in the simplest, most effective ways possible.

What I’ve done

  • At Agilent, existing documentation was rebranded to align with the corporate brand. I introduced Git source control to the doc team, replacing slow and inefficient Windows shares. Remotely accessing files went from almost two hours to under ten minutes.

  • At Jitterbit, I created enablement documentation that helped users connect systems and build applications to improve business processes. A Markdown/Docs-as-Code workflow speeded documentation development and release on a tight two- to three-week release cadence.

  • At Sheridan Journal Services, I used Flare to single-source and brand online Help for 15 clients, tailoring each document to their unique workflow and processes. This cut support tickets by 30%.

If you need something explained, something complex made simple, let’s talk about how I can help you with your next project. The link to contact me is in the footer.
